March 2015 Work / Restoration Completed

The New windows being installed to replace the ones that were stolen
This picture shows the progress of both plastering the walls and installing the toilets in the Girls Wing.
This is how a finished room will basically look once the windows are complete, the ceilings are done, plastering complete and beds are placed.
Here we have replaced the two large front windows that were stolen (one pictured here). This window is for the Orphanage Administrator’s office.
This picture shows the 2 of 4 windows on the outside of the girls dorm were replaced (the other 2 were completed after Randy McEwen departed)
This is one of the 5 completed suites for the caretakers. This is the type of ceiling that is being installed in each area of the Orphanage
Girl’s shower stall.
In this picture you can see how they chisel out the paths for the water lines for the piping for the showers. They will now put the final coat of plaster on the wall to cover the pipes.

March 2015 Before the Work Above was Completed
To the right is the entrance to the girls dorm bathroom suite. You can see the left side (toilet area) had been plastered and the right side (shower area) had not been.
This pictures shows the conduit and how much of the Children’s home needs ceilings to be installed. For now, the carpenters are focusing on the girls wing dorms and toilet area exclusively.
This view is of the kitchen. As you can see, it has been partially plastered but needs to be plastered up to the rafters. To the left are the cold and dry storage areas, and to the rear is the pass-through serving window.
This is the opposite view of the kitchen showing both the entry door and the pass-through serving window.
This image is of the back corridor that divides the front 3 sections of the building from the back three. Once all plumbing work is completed, all 3 corridors will need to be concreted. From this view, the girls dorm is through the door to the right and the girls bath area is the opening on the left.
This was the outside of the girls dorm upon arrival in March. Note the four missing windows.
More coming soon as the pictures come in from Malawi.
