Domestic Giving

One part of our local missions is our domestic giving / benevolence.

Our ministry supports the needs of our neighbors in Effingham and surrounding counties by providing free school uniforms, clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares, furniture, and financial assistance.

  • For free school uniforms, students/parents are usually given certificates from the local school system. All that is needed is for the individual to call us and schedule an appointment. After a few minutes of paperwork and interview, the individual / family can go and select the needed items for free, up to the maximum limits set seasonally by our Board of Directors.
  • For free general clothing and accessories, anyone may apply to receive free clothing for themselves and all minor dependents living with them. All that is needed is for the individual to call us and schedule an appointment. After a few minutes of paperwork and interview, the individual / family can go and select the needed items for free, up to the maximum limits set seasonally by our Board of Directors.
  • For free housewares and furniture, individuals may call to set up an appointment. These cannot always be granted immediately after the interview. Priority is given on a severity of needs basis. Highest priority is given to clients of Victim Witness, and victims of fire and natural disaster.
  • For financial assistance, individuals may call to schedule an interview. In general, we help with electricity and water bills, and occasionally may be able to help with rent and other financial needs. Financial assistance cannot be approved on the spot. Financial requests are submitted once per week for prayerful consideration and possible approval. We do not make payments to the client. All financial assistance must be paid directly to the company the money is owed to.

Generally speaking, we typically make all of the appointments for the week on Mondays. We generally have more individuals calling in for assistance than we have open slots for the interviews/appointments. So we start taking phone calls around 7am on Monday. Usually, we are completely full for the week by 9am. Our office number is 912-826-2981.
